In an effort to create awareness of the hazards of sugar and the growing epidemic of childhood obesity and juvenile diabetes we are giving children the opportunity to turn their candy into cash. The Cash4Candy event is where trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy and receive $1 for every pound they turn in. We can teach our kids that they can have fun without tons of sugar. We still want the kids to have a great time dressing up and trick or treating\, and yes\, eat some candy. But even after they have had had their fill and picked out some "choice keepers"\, they will still probably have about 10 pounds left\, and nobody needs that much candy.
